Saona Island

Saona Island is located at the southeastern tip of the Dominican Republic. It is part of the Cotubanamá National Park and is known for its mangroves, coral reefs and palm-fringed beaches, such as Palmilla. The shallow waters of the island are home to starfish. Saona is home to numerous birds, turtles, dolphins, whales and manatees, making it a popular destination for tourists. Cotubanamá National Park

It is one of the most popular tourist spots in the Bayahibe region, known for its white sand beaches and shallow turquoise waters, its impressive coral formations, its caves that hide subway lagoons and Taino petroglyphs, as well as the possibility of swimming with dolphins in one of the best diving destinations in the Dominican Republic.
