Beaches

Bayahibe and Dominicus are famous for their diving, with numerous dive centers and extraordinary sites such as the St Georges wreck, Catalina Island, Saona Island and Dominicus Reef. In addition to scuba diving, guests of the hotels and numerous tourist residences can enjoy water sports such as sea kayaking, catamaran excursions, deep-sea fishing and, of course, the wonderful white sand beaches lined with coconut palms and turquoise waters for which the Caribbean coast is famous.

The beaches of Bayahibe and Dominicus are not protected by a coral reef, but the sea is calm and clear because it is the Caribbean Sea. Here you can enjoy wonderful sunsets over the Caribbean Sea.

Bayahibe Beach

Bayahibe Beach stretches from the Hilton Hotel to the port of Bayahibe and is lined with coconut and palm trees. In the shade of the coconut trees you will find bars and restaurants, the ideal place to enjoy a cocktail or a famous grilled fish. The small and charming fishing village of Bayahibe, from where all excursions to Saona Island depart, becomes a haven of peace at the end of the day, when all tourists heading to this island paradise return to their resorts. Bayahibe beach is also famous for fishing and scuba diving, as well as being a perfect place for snorkeling. In its Caribbean waters you can see starfish, cuttlefish and rays.

Dominicus Beach

The public beach of La Laguna is located in Dominicus, about 4 kilometers past the town of Bayahibe. This beach is located between the beaches of the hotels in Dominicus.
It is a beautiful white sand beach in the Caribbean Sea, with warm and often calm waters. From La Laguna beach you can walk along the hotel beaches and reach Cotubanamá National Park (former Parque Nacional del Este).
